If you live on the East Coast and you want to make a huge difference in a child's life this summer, consider applying to be a host family for the Fresh Air Fund. The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer vacations to New York City children from disadvantaged communities since 1877.This summer they're in desperate need of families, especially families who will host older children (ages 9-11) and boys.
