Hello, my friends.
I apologize for not writing sooner. As you've no doubt heard on TWIT, I've decided not to start up the Jumping Monkeys podcast again.
I enjoyed our run and I can't tell you how much I appreciated all the feedback from you all.
I can't thank Leo, Dane, Colleen, Tony, and Frederique enough for letting me barge into the studio once a week and blab on about geek parenting.
And I can't thank you enough for taking the time to listen.
I also wanted to thank all of our guests for coming on the show and their PR people who put up with my unprofessional scheduling style. And for those of you who I forgot to tell that the show was live, I apologize for that too.
Why did I stop doing the show? I have such a great respect for Leo and for everything that he's doing and I hope to continue to be a part of it in some way in the future. It's difficult to explain exactly why I decided to cancel Jumping Monkeys. The most simple answer is that I was finding it more difficult to devote the time that I thought was needed to make the show improve and blossom. The more complicated answer is that research for these shows is difficult. I never recommended anything that I didn't like, but it was getting way too easy to get content from the PR people who sent the most emails. And that's not always the best content.
I think I may close down this blog soon too. It has been a great seven years, but I think I explained why in my last post.
For now, you can follow my twitter silence at http://twitter.com/meganmorrone. As soon as I think of something worth saying to you, I promise I'll say it.

Megan,
As a doting auntie to almost 5-year-old twin nieces (and no kids of my own) with an interest in making sure they are hooked up from a geek perspective you introduced me to a lot of great information.
You will be missed but I also understand that life changes and things evolve. If your future endeavors bring you back to tech I hope you will keep the Twit Army in the loop. Best to you and yours.

Have you ever seen a picture of her when she was young on her flickr? it looks like she has a caterpillar growing on her forehead or it could just be the worlds biggest unibrow? haha

You guys need to knock it off with the personal comments. Have you ever tried to raise three young children? It will wear anyone out.
Thanks for all your efforts Megan. Been a fan for a long time. I'll sure miss your writing.

Megan: I've loved listening to the podcasts and learning from the shows. I came late to the podcast from TWIT shortly after learing that my wife & I were expecting our first child, Oliver, who was born two months ago tomorrow. I'll miss spend, save, give and the techie-friendly aspects of your show and your blog. Parent blogs are a dime a dozen but finding a good source for parenting advice in today's world is really very valuable. Thanks and good luck.

Hi Megan, I was an avid listener to your podcasts. Don't tell the other twit podcasters but Jumping Monkeys was my favorite show! I am going to miss it tremendously.
Believe it or not, I am 19 years old, and a sophomore at UCLA! Am I the wierdest person for listening to your podcasts and loving them? But I really liked tuning in to you and Leo and imagining what my own parents would have been talking about several years ago, and liked to imagine myself as a future parent.
I know this is unlikely, but I'd love it if sometime down the road, when you start having more time, you'd come back to the podcast and produce some more of your incredible shows for us!

I will miss you Megan for I loved your podcast a lot. The guy who writes comments about how awful you look needs to shut up and leave you alone. As a listener to your podcast it made me sad to hear someone would be that rude and say those things. Those comments were not funny at all! If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all you jerk!

Oh no! This is terrible news, and you will be missed. You have (had) a niche into parently that no one else covers and the chemistry between you and Leo was wonderful to hear, as well as both ends of the parenting spectrum (young-uns versus teens). I wish you would reconsider!! And I wish you well...

I am so very sorry to hear you are stopping Jumping Monkeys! I loved listening to you and Leo and will truly miss you! I understand as a busy mom, but still am selfishly very sad.

John, Tony, get a life! This will only happen when you finally move out of your mom's basement, give up your paper route, and get a job where you're biggest competition isn't the 10 year old down the street. Then you may be lucky to find a woman that is maybe a quarter of the person Megan is that's willing to spend time with you pathetic losers.
Megan, I enjoyed your podcast immensely and will miss getting your handy tech tips for families. I've definitely learned a lot and appreciate your time! Thanks for the info and have a great time with that family of yours!

Jumping Monkeys was my favorite parenting podcast. It was just plain fun to listen to and you and Leo were the perfect voices of common sense parenting. Thanks for creating such great entertainment for so long. You did a great job. Everything has its season and now it is time for you to move on, perfectly understandable. You should feel proud of a job well done.

I am very sorry to hear that you are stopping your Jumping Monkeys podcast and blog.
I have found it very helpful and useful.

John and Tony - get a life.
Megan, I was an avid fan and never missed a show. When you went in hiatus for the holidays I thought maybe this would happen but hoped against hope it would not. Although I understand I can't say I'm not bummed LOL. Take care of those monkeys of yours. I, like a previous poster, hope Leo will be able to find someone of equal talent and caliber to fill the "parenting in the digital age" genre as I think it's completely relavant. Thanks for all the hours you have give us, free of charge. All the best.

Megan, I'm so sorry to hear of the demise of JM. I loved the show and it was a well of information for me and my family. I appreciate your situation. Since my son was born 4 and a half years ago, my personal productivity has dwindled. With your tribe it must be nigh on impossible to devote any serious time to a project.
I will miss listening to your voice, and the friendly banter between Leo and yourself. I wish you all the best..
PS:@ John/Tony/Bob whomever you really are, the one thing that is perfectly evident is what a bottom-feeding amount-to-nothing loser you are. Nice work. Now go hang yourself. Let me know if you need any help with that. I'd be happy to oblige.

"Now go hang yourself. Let me know if you need any help with that. I'd be happy to oblige" You trying to get us all in trouble and when the police show up at your door for murder what should all us fellow jumping monkeys tell them huh?

I've only just started listening to you about 4 episodes ago. I kept hitting refresh in my iTunes hoping Jumping Monkeys would start downloading. I was always wondering what happened till I saw this blog post. I'm immensely sad. :(
Please do consider coming back!

Megan, Leo, anyone at Twit...are you still reading this? If you are, we really miss the show and would love to see it revived. I understand if now is not the time for Megan, but would someone else be willing to shoulder the burden of the show and have Megan as a regular guest?
