In case you haven't heard, I decided to put the Jumping Monkeys podcast on hiatus until next year. I love working with Leo, but I was too busy and something had to give. I hope to carve out some time to write here, but I am finding that the closer my kids get to learning how to read, the less likely I am to continue writing about them in such a public forum.

we miss you guys.....

We do indeed. I'm glad you are taking time off. And it's probably a good idea to stop talking about your kids. But it's kinda sad that you've had to stop talking altogether.
Take care of yourself (of course) and can't wait to see Jumping Monkeys pop up in my podcatcher.

Thanks for letting us know, I was worried that something had happened!
Take care

Hoping that you're back next year.

Hi Megan. Just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you have been to me as a mother and a geek. You gave me courage to start a blog as well as a podcast and you've always been a fantastic role model. I remember the days of the Screen Savers — a time that gave me much hope as a female going to college to obtain a degree in a tech-related industry. I started listening to your show around episode 7 and then went all the way back to episode 1 and have been listening to every episode since! You and Leo have kept me company during late night feedings and drives to freelance gigs. Out of all of the podcasts I subscribed to, yours is the ONLY one I have listened to every single one of them! (of course, I very much appreciated yours and Leo's shout outs to me on a couple of those episodes! What a treat!)
I hope you'll be able to continue the podcast and blog in some form as I have greatly appreciated your experience and advice over the past few years, but I can almost completely empathize with the need for a "tech time out."
I wanted to wish you Happy Holidays and best wishes in the new year. May the challenges continue to be rewarding!

Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year.
Look forward to your return in 09

Hey Megan, I think it's great that your taking a break. You've been working every Wednesday hard just to get the podcast out and it shows that you and Leo are the funnest pair to be with. You are just so inspirational, being a female geek and a sensational mom, it just inspires me to become a father in the future. Your show too is so wonderful, a wealth of information for the digital age, I too might use this when I become a parent. Anyways, Happy Holidays, hope your break goes well and when your show returns, I will be there to take the notes.
Peace Y'all.

sorry for the double post, if Megan were to delete this post and the duplicate post then I'd appreciate it.
Again, sorry for the double post.

SOOOOOO sad. I love the two of you together and it was one of the best podcasts around. I hope you get the rest you need and are able to come back to us. Good luck and keep us posted!

I have loved this podcast but totally understand your position.
Thank you for all the education & entertainment that your podcast has given me while walking the dog or freelancing at night.
Best of luck during your hiatus! Hope to see you back soon!

I miss you guys!!!! I hope that you come back soon! I'm almost caught up and am worried that I'm going to go through withdrawal.

Hi Megan! Can you give us a sense about when the show plans to resume? I need my fix!!!!
Posted by: Jessica | January 14, 2009 at 05:33 PM
Say it ain't so. . . On TWIT this week Leo said that Jumping Monkeys isn't coming back and according the the TWIT Wiki Jumping Monkeys "was" a netcast on the TWiT Network.
I completely understand why but will miss the amazing information I gleaned from Jumping Monkeys.

:(
So sad that Leo talks about Jumping Monkeys like it's completely gone, never to come back.
Your podcast has made a difference in my life, my kids lives, and *really* I hope Jumping Monkeys comes back.
Take care!

Thanks for a great run! We understand why you are taking a break, but we will definitely miss the show. My wife and I both enjoyed the show every week! We listened with a pen a paper to check out all the cool links you talked about.

I hate that this show is gone. I had hoped it would return soon, but after hearing TWiT this week, I have have no hope. You guys produced a great podcast that was one of my favorites along with TRS; you even beat out TWiT and Diggnation. I learned much from you and am still grateful for you pointing me to DadLabs (now my favorite podcast with TRS). I hope to see this show back one day. Good luck with the kids. I now have to raise mine on my own. =-(

Please come back! This is a great resource for so many. You both have great personalities!

Very sad...the show will be missed. Leo made the comment that the show had been canned like some of the google projects. =[

Is it true that the show has been canceled? I keep checking to see if you are back.

Megan (& Leo),
As "digital parents" we wanted to say thank you for having contributed such podcast for the world. My wife and I listen and donate to TWIT...
Yumping Monkeeys (as Leo would say!)may be cancelled (say it isn't so!).
Can you post officially as we check back to this site as the official word if your coming back or not.
We miss you!
