0 - Number of pictures Annabella would willingly pose for at school.
5 - Number of minutes after arrival before Annabella asked, "When are you going to leave?"
1 - Number of cell phones I accidentally left in the kindergarten classroom. (I did not go back and pick it up until I picked Annabella up so that the teachers wouldn't think I left it there on purpose.)

0 - Number of Morrone family members actually attending kindergarten who cried at drop-off.
Best line of the day: "Am I crying because she's getting so old? Or because I am?" -- My friend Jen, who's daughter started kindergarten today too.
You can look at the rest of the photos and a few videos on my SmugMug.

Congratulations on a major milestone. I love your idea of photos in front of the same landmark every year, if you can get her to go along with it. She really is growing up, isn't she? (Somehow I missed that she'd had her hair cut - her idea or yours?) But what's the big idea of cutting the video before we get to hear the parents sing the ABC song? ;)

That's was like the cutest videos ever, I especially like like Annabella saying "put away your camera mommy"
Matthew will be 5 soon enough, even though he is only 2 months old. I will be the one crying.

Unbelievable. I remember when she was just a bump in the belly on tech tv.
Looks like you are doing a great job. Just quit worrying about your parenting skills, you are doing great.

I still get a little choked up each first day of school - and mine are in middle school! I take their pic on the front steps of our house the first and last day of school each year - fun to see how they have grown even in the course of the school year!
I used to work at an office where the divide was quite even - all the moms who had kids say, 5th grade and younger would come to work on the first day of school all weepy, and the moms of the high school kids would come to school cheering "Woohoo and thank God!" It was pretty funny to see the progression.

How can she possibly be in kindergarten already? Time is moving too quickly. I adore her new haircut. She is as stunning with a straight bob as she was with long waves.

Awww... we are doing this next year. It's nice to see another mom survived it! :D I too, remember when you announced on TechTV that she was coming! :) Time flies!

Congrats on surviving the first day. I did that last year with my twin girls, and I had a tear or two. One because my girls were getting older, and two because Mommy wasn't there to see it. (Mommy passed away almost 2 years ago.)

Wow, time flies. I watched TechTV and it is funny how our lives are running parallel. My wife actually told me she was pregnant while I was watching TSS after pulling an all night for a web project. Now my oldest starts kindergarten in a couple weeks. Ethan is also sick of posing for photos so my only advice is to get a good zoom lens and take photos from a distance when they are unaware. You can get some awesome candid shots that way. We even lucked out this weekend and got a photo with all three of our kids together and smiling at the same time.

Just wanted to say that I loved your post! I thought it was hilarious! It inspired me to write an "answer" to the too-much-tech-in-the-purse problem. Check it out:
