Theresa has questions about Cozi, Tumblr, and Totspot

Love hearing what Vanessa Van Petten has to say. I started following her when she was on Jumping Monkeys the first time and have enjoyed her blog. You should make Vanessa a regular on Jumping Monkeys or give Vanessa her own show, Leo. She's great!

AAAAAAH! Information contained in blogs will indeed be here in 10 years if you give it the attention it needs.
You may not be using the same platform, you may not be calling them blogs, but the information you produce will still be viable if you take the time to care for it!
Paper is a wonderful thing, don't get me wrong, but printing out a blog is not always the thing to do. I could go on (http://www.archivistalison.com/posts/8).
I should just reiterate that what you guys may have been feeling is this general sentiment that blogs won't last like paper journals. No, they won't. We have to change our attitudes about long-term information preservation in the digital world.
Producing digital information may not feel like much of an investment up front, but if you want it to survive for the long-term, you have to pay attention to it. That's where the "cost" comes in.
OK. Now about Posterous. I have just one question. What happens to your information when Posterous goes out of business? What about this line in their terms of service, "Posterous is provided 'as-is' with no warranty of any kind. You use the service at your own risk."
I would seriously think twice about trusting precious family information to services like this. That isn't to say that they don't have their place, but they aren't, in my opinion, long-term preservation solutions.
And, finally, French dressing rocks. I'll eat it all for you, Megan.
{rant over, thanks for listening}

It's so lucky for me to find your blog! So shocking and great! Just one suggestion: It will be better and easier to follow if your blog can offer rrs subscription service.
