It's not like we don't go places. We do. But most of those places are vacations we take to see people or vacations we take with family or friends. Last week we finally took our first family vacation all by ourselves. We rented a beach house in Castroville, CA (artichoke capital of the world) and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was five years in the making and it was worth it.
This is a video I took of some jellyfish, my favorite thing at the aquarium. It should be noted that Milo's favorite thing at the aquarium was the escalator. You can view the rest of the pictures here.

Megan! Your babies are so grown up! I remember when A was born, so seeing the twins so big is freaking me out!
You have a beautiful family, but I think you know that already. I hope your vacation was fabulous!

It might take them 20 (or 30 or 40) years to appreciate how precious they are, but your kids will definitely treasure those photos, and the memories of that vacation, when they are grown.
What a beautiful family!

I love the Tall Mom photo. Family vacations are wonderful. We've done a couple camping trips to Acadia National Park in Maine and are hoping to make another one in a year or two. This year we're staying close to home and looking for new adventures in the form of day trips. IMHO - Trips out into nature and to zoos or aquariums are the best with little kids.
