I took the day off from work yesterday because the teachers at Marco's school threw us a baby shower. Also, I needed some time to rest and nest.
As a result, the baby's room is pretty much ready. All we need now is a baby.

Here are a few different views of the crib:
And here is the changing table/dresser:
Here's her closet. She currently has more items of clothing than I do:
Below is a little rocker that as a child Marco found in someone's trash and brought home to his mother. His parents recently had it refinished and gave it to us as a present. ![]()
The monkey night light from my mom's college roommate, Jackie:

This is the Snap - N - Go infant car seat carrier that was recommended by my sister. She used hers regularly until father-in-law accidentally ran it over with his car. Without the baby in it, of course. The car seat comes separately. We decided on the Graco Smooth Ride. We'll have to buy another stroller when the baby grows out of the infant car seat, but we figured this was the better option than the all-in-on stroller "travel systems" that we felt were just too unweildy for our needs.

"She currently has more items of clothing than I do"
That'll change a couple of weeks after she's born, when she's already outgrown everything. :)

Lol, WheelMan, that's the truth. I'm sure pretty soon she'll have more clothes than Megan and Marco combined. I like the rug, all in all, everything looks great :-)

Very nice Megan. Do you have a mobile for the crib?
Posted by: Steven | March 14, 2003 at 12:03 AM
The only mobile we have right now is one that my friend Liz gave us. She's living in Zimbabwe right now. Apparently they have some different ideas about safety than we do. It's beautiful, but it's made of wire and has a lot of sharp edges.
Posted by: Megan | March 14, 2003 at 12:29 AM
All that is shiny..... It took me a minute to think of what a mobile is, so, yeah, the thingy that spins and makes sounds a helps the baby get to sleep, right? I'm sure you'll pick the perfect one, or that someone will send you something :-) I'm not sure if I am just ignorant or if you haven't posted, but when is your due date (if you don't mind me asking) ? March 23 would be GREAT :-D

Looks good.
Do you have a closet full of diapers yet?
Now we await these words:

Man, that is one big pile of monkeys!

Wonderful! We're so excited for you. Now, if you decide on a window treatment, remember--no hanging cords. And plastic plugs on all the outlets. Clip locks on the vanity doors where cleaning supplies are kept, knives in secure drawers and pot handles turned toward the inside.
Oh, grandfatherly types get like this. Pay no mind. Pay heed, but pay no mind (grin).
We're pulling for you here in Kentucky.

You can put all the stuffed toys in the world in it, if you leave the baby to cry it out, you're a crap parent.
I'll shed a tear for the baby being abandoned in that crib.

*Slaps Cynic*
Megan and Marco will never abandon baby-ronne! They will be great parents. Thus sayeth the all knowing Mx :-D

Looks great Megan. I totally dig the monkey night light.
Posted by: Bill | March 14, 2003 at 03:22 AM
Love the view... its not much of a view but oh well... bet the baby's favorite color will be green... I don't know why I just have a feeling.
Posted by: Wesley | March 14, 2003 at 03:36 AM
It's a lovely room, Megan, and I'm sure Baby Morrone will totally love it. Plus, the monkeys make the crib look like barrels of fun.
Oh my, that was an awful pun. ^_^ Good luck, Megan, and I'm crossing my fingers for ya!

ZackAttack -Thanks again for your wonderful gifts. If I remember correctly, they were some of the first we received. I'm so happy they almost have a baby to go with them.
Cynic - What's worse is the parent that leaves all those stuffed animals in the crib. Empty crib = Safe baby.
As for letting her cry it out, I'd only do that if I was too busy writing in my weblog.
I'm just kidding. I don't care what expert says that letting a baby "cry it out" makes them stronger, my instincts tell me that's not true and my instincts I will trust.
By the way, I'm looking into why the time on all these postings is so far off.

Hey Megan:
Hopefully Baby Morrone arrives on schedule.. not like these people:

I was going to ask you about that Megan...what is up with posting time?
Posted by: Steven | March 14, 2003 at 04:57 AM
Anybody ever here that the colors black and white are supposed to be very stimulating mentally to neeborns? I just remember a lot of talk about that a few years ago. They were even making black and white mobiles.
Posted by: WheelMan | March 14, 2003 at 05:16 AM
Um, I meant "newborns", not "neeborns". :)
Posted by: WheelMan | March 14, 2003 at 05:19 AM
And I still don't know when the due date ie....
